Westphalian foal season comes to an end

Münster: The last online foal auction 2022 in Westphalia came to an end in the final bid-up. For an average price of 5,875 Euros, 20 riding horse foals and two pony foals found a new owner. Two foals with a pedigree predispositioned for dressage particularly impressed the customers this evening. Both the colt with the head number 14 and the filly with the head number 17 found a new owner at the hammer price of 8,250 Euros. After this online auction, the Westphalian Stud Book has already successfully sold 342 foals in 2022.

34 representatives of the 2022 vintage were for sale in this online auction of the Westphalian Stud Book. With a total turnover of 129,250 Euros, 65 percent of the foals offered changed hands. The international clientele invested an average of 5,875 Euros in their young hopes for the dressage ring and show jumping course. Eight of the young Westphalians will start their careers outside of Germany.

Among the foals with a pedigree predispositioned for dressage, both a colt and a filly achieved the highest price of 8,250 Euros. With the head number 14, Tamino particularly appealed to the customers. The son of Taurus comes from the breeding house of Antonius Richter, Hopsten. He had bred his Dancier daughter Donna Emma to the premium stallion of the Westphalian Main Licensing 2019. A customer from the United Arab Emirates had the longest breath in the BidUp and won the bid for the bay colt. Once again it was Bonds who offered one of the most popular foals with his daughter Bonds Girl S.K. (breeder: Sebastian Kottig, Gronau-Epe, exhibitor: Evelyn Klar, Heek). The filly with the head number 17 was bred out of Devolution L by Danone. The dam of this mare has a full brother who was successful in advanced level dressage competitions. Customers from Germany can look forward to a successful future with this bay filly.

With this online auction, the Westphalian Stud Book has successfully marketed 342 foals so far this year. This results in a sales quota of the foals offered of almost 80 percent as well as a total turnover of the foal sale of 3.5 million Euros. On average, Westphalian customers invested 10,400 Euros in the foals sold in 2022. OnLive, some representatives of the 2022 vintage will present themselves once again next Saturday. Within the framework of the German Amateur Championships, which will be held once again in Münster-Handorf, 25 foals will be up for sale. Bids can be placed online as well as live on site on 24 September from 5.30 pm.
